Three Groups – Super Sport, Sport 1 and Sport 2. All leave at 6:30 separated by two minutes.
Blue Star Bride Construction – The bridge may not be completed by May 7th. If not we will use the Hamilton Route until then
Have your bike, (and yourself), ready to ride! Get the tune up before you ride 35 miles. Make sure your bike is in good working order
Bring tube, pump/inflator, tire leavers. With the knowledge how to use them.
We are a group ride, but everyone has the responsibility to be able to ride with the group. Be in shape and the MNRide is a blast.
Previous experience riding with a group is not needed, but please ask for guidance and be willing to take instructions from your fellow riders. Group riding looks easy, but is of course something different.

See you there?

This Monday is the final membership meeting for this year’s “off season”. This month’s guest speaker is Sgt. Steve Austin of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department! Sgt. Austin works in the accident investigation unit of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department. When a bad accident occurs, they study it in amazing depth. Their findings may help in determining charges and can be used in prevention. The discussion will likely include ways we can me sure we’re safe this season, riding alone or in groups, and what we as a club may be able to do to help make our area safer for cycling. Sgt. Austin’s presentation is always interesting and informative, so don’t miss out.

See you this Monday night at Turks, 977 Butternut Drive in Holland. Meeting starts at 8pm.

MCCers!

The club is putting together an order for club clothing using the last design. Ordering is all on line and very easy. (See instructions below from Voler)

FIT KIT: MCC is getting a fit kit. This includes bottoms and tops with sizes ranging from XS to XXL. The kit includes wind shells/vests and knickers. The kit will be available for only a short time.

MCC will have two dates set aside:

February 4th, Saturday. Kit will be located at 1105 104th Ave Holland MI. This is Marshall’s house. Fitting from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

February 6th, this is the monthly MCC winter meeting. Meetings are held at Turk’s restaurant starting at 8:00 pm. Fit kit will be available starting at 7:30 pm.

Please email Marshall at mmichmerhuizen@charter.net if you need to arrange another time.

The FIT KIT will only be available for two weeks.

Ordering dead line is March 11th with delivery the first week in May. All ordering and payment is online through Voler.

Quick questions from previous orders:

“What’s Race jersey vs. Club jersey?” Race is a form fitting European cut. Narrow waist and chest. Club cut is looser fitting and considered more U.S. style. 90% of all jerseys ordered are Club cut.
Questions concerning fit and ordering on line should be asked to Voler. (They are very helpful)

“Do we have a minimum order?” Yes. 15 piece for short sleeve, 15 for bottoms and 15 for long sleeve.

“What happens if a minimum is not met?” Purchases made will be refunded. You will have a chance near the end of ordering to switch from one group to another. We will try and give warning if we are coming up short.

Thanks for reading.

Welcome to the Voler Online Ordering System

The December meeting topic will be Bicycle Touring, and the non-profit organization that has done the most to promote travel by bicycle, the Adventure Cycling Association. ACA event staff person Lydia Meyer will talk about her bicycle touring experiences (beginning with riding with tent and sleeping bag from Holland to the Mackinac Bridge in 1982) including her Adventure Cycling Great Lakes Relaxed UP trip in September. Steve from The Outpost will bring bicycle camping equipment and demonstrate it’s use. Tim Meyer from Rock ‘n’ Road Cycle will bring a touring bike with bags, but also show how the bike you have now can be a touring bike too. Also included in the presentation will be Adventure Cycling’s catalog with it’s range of trips from TransAmerica self-contained to catered and van-supported family rides to touring and leadership courses. And as the meeting will be held near the corner of Riley and US Bike Route 35 we’ll cover ACA’s latest big project, the United States Bike Route System.

The meeting is this Monday night, December 5 at Turks Restaurant, Butternut (USBR-35) just North of Riley St., 8:00 PM. Come by early and enjoy a beverage and some snacks on the club! Board members will be on hand starting a 7:00 PM to chat about the club, take suggestions for making the club better or just talk about the sport we love.
