Holland 100 A Huge Success…Thank You!

Hey MCCers,
Just a quick note to let you know yesterday’s Holland 100 was a huge success. Although we don’t have a final rider count yet, by all estimates a record number of riders participated! A big thanks and job well done goes out the to organizing committee, volunteers, sponsors, charities, bike shops, and most of all the riders! Thanks for making this year’s event the best ever! See you at the Monday Night Ride and Sweet Roll this week.

Holland 100 Pre Registration & Party Tomorrow Night at New Holland

New Holland Brewery is hosting the Holland 100 packet pick-up and on-site registration tomorrow night from 5-9pm. The brewery is located at 66 E. 8th Street in downtown Holland. While there enjoy the event party on the back patio. We will be serving appetizers and soft drinks. Beer & wine will be available at a reduced price. See you tomorrow night!

Need Volunteers for the Holland Hundred…Please Step-Up

Hey MCCers! We need some volunteers to help with the Holland Hundred Bicycle Tour.

Friday July 16th at New Holland Brewery

2 people to help with T-shirt sales from 5-7 PM
6 people to help with Registration from 5-7 PM

2 people to help with T-shirt sales from 7-9 PM
6 people to help with Registration from 7-9 PM

Saturday July 17th at the ride start at Herman Miller

2 people to help with T-shirt sales from 6-10 AM
6 people to help with Registration from 6-10 AM

Also we will need 10 people (5 teams of 2) to help with marking the roads on Saturday July 10th.

The Sweet Roll Ride starts this Saturday! Meet at the West Ottawa HS, South Athletic building parking lot at 8:00 a.m. Saturday morning. We will head north to Grand Haven for cinnamon rolls at Morning Star Cafe and head back to Holland. For more details click on the Club Rides link at the left side of the page. Ride Tomorrow to Support Green Commute Week

Elisa Hoekwater from the Macatawa Area Coordinating Council is organizing a bike ride for Green Commute Week which will be Saturday morning (7:45 - 8:30 am), leaving from the Civic Center and riding to Windmill Island. They are extending an invitation to MCC members to participate. The purpose of the ride is to promote biking in the Holland and Zeeland area. Right now they have a number of elected officials who will be participating and several families. They put an ad in the Holland Sentinel to invite anyone else to ride along - and would love to see more cyclists! Afterward they will have a Bike Expo at the Civic Center - with speakers & demo’s from each of the local bike shops - and we’ll be awarding Green Commute awards to the employer who had the highest number of employees riding their bikes to work this week (as well as walking, carpooling, and taking the bus).

If you know of anyone who would like to join the bike ride, they can just plan to show up Saturday morning and they will leave at 8 am.

Ride of Silence May 19th

Join the MCC in supporting this year’s Ride of Silence taking place May 19th. Here are the details:

What: Free bicycle ride, ridden in silence

Where: Holland Civic Center, Holland, MI - 11 mile loop at 12 mph pace

When: 6:30p.m. gather to start riding at 7:00p.m.

Who: Anone who can ride a bicycle/tricycle

Why We Ride:

To remember those injured or killed on our roadways
To remind drivers to be aware of cyclists’ presence
To ask everyone to share the road

Please join us May 19th at 6:30p.m. to remember!
