March MCC Board Meeting Summary
Attendees: Tom Ayres, Marshall Michmerhuizen, Tim Meyer, JD Stone, Doug Spooner
- Kirk Walter provided the club’s latest financial update via email. The club is in good financial health. The club currently has a positive bank balance of $26,387
- Marshall provided a brief club clothing “fit kit” update. Unless more members place orders, the club will not meeting minimum order levels.
- Marshall also updated the board on the Upper Mac mountain bike trail project. New challenges have materialized. Marshall will attend the next open meeting and provide the board with an update next month.
- Tom A. provided a Riley Trails update. He and Kirk will be meeting with some Ottawa County folks to discuss plans there and support from the club.
- Doug provided a Holland 100 update. He made a proposal to move the Friday Night “packet pick-up” location to the Double Tree Hotel. The board voted to support his proposal. Doug also proposed the board allow Living Waters to have a table/booth on site at the Friday Night packet pick-up in exchange for bringing a minimum of 50 riders to the Holland 100. The board voted 3-1 in favor of this proposal. The board also agreed that no vendor space would be sold for the event this year.
- Tom asked the board for funding to develop this year’s Holland 100 brochure. The board approved $1000 for this effort.
- The board meeting adjourned at 7:50 p.m.
The guest speaker for this month’s membership meeting was Randy Knapp, trail coordinator for the Owasippe Trail. Randy presented plans for the MMBA sponsored project. Following his presentation, Randy fielded questions from the MCC membership. A good crowd turned out for the meeting, asking lots of questions. The membership meeting concluded at 9:00p.m.
