Macatawa Cycling Club recently made a donation and purchase of 3 Canondale “Police” bikes to the Holland Police Department.

This is part of our ongoing community advocacy and outreach program.  The donation even received a little local press attention and you can read more about it at the two URL’s below.

The MMC Forums have been shutdown at least temporarily.  As you may know we were overun by innappropriate content being posted in an automated fashion to the site.

Given that the forums have seen very little activity this season, we have opted to simply shut them down until we feel confident that we can control the spam.

In the meantime, please look here for any information and updates about Club rides… weather, road conditions, etc.

The 2009 Lake Macatawa Triathlon is right around the corner and they need volunteers to help with bike marshaling duties.  The race takes place on Saturday, June 13, at Howard B Dunton Park in Holland Township.  If you are interested in helping out, contact Darrin Duistermars at  darrind@hct.holland.mi.us.   Thanks.

A Tornado Watch has been issued for Allegan County this evening until 10pm. Per our club’s policy, the Monday Night Ride is canceled tonight. However, ride leaders and some other riders may show up for the ride despite the weather. Understand this may be risky given the potentially hazardous weather. Please think safety first if you decide to go ahead and ride. Take Care.
